     This site offers a new critical edition of a Middle English poem by John Lydgate.  In our introduction you will find an overview of the lyric including the early manuscript history, notes about Lydgate's life and work, and a brief description of the famous headdresses of Lydgate's poem. In addition to a critical edition with both textual and explanatory notes, users will be able to access transcripts of the manuscripts we used to produce this edition. Users will also find a list of suggested readings that provide a starting point for critical analysis.
